Composition Guidlines and Rules

The Five Rules:
* The rule Rule of Thirds is important and interesting because it is the king of compositional rules and it focuses on the left or right third of the frame instead of directly in the middle.

* The rule Viewpoint is important and interesting because it can give a clear message of what the photographer is shooting and it also explains what you're trying to tell the person looking at the picture.

 * The rule Simplicity is important and interesting because it makes the picture more eyecatching when you take out the unnecessary objects of the picture to show that it is effective.

* The rule Space is important and interesting because if an action was taken in the photo its important to give the picture some space to show what the subject is going to do, and it gives a better understanding of what's going on.

* The rule Background is important and interesting because it shows that you need to be able to control what's going to come out in your background overwhelming, the picture should be focused on the main subject or object.

First Portrait Assignment

These are the pictures I took on Tuesday and Wednesday of Julie and Ilse. I did well on having them forgot about the camera because they were laughing and having fun taking the pictures which distracted them.

My First Photo Outing - Principles of Design

Principles of Design

This photo meets the principle of design (pattern) because it shows how the windows and bricks repeat all over the work of art. I used highlight, shadows, and black and white on Aperture for the edit.

Elements of Art Images

Elements of Art

I chose to take one photograph and create five different images of it.

The Element of Art this picture uses is "forms" because the cannon and the balls display a three-dimensional shape that expresses its length, width, and depth.
